Motivated to inspire and empower other women in finding the confidence, capabilities and connections to progress in their careers, Erin joined FutureWomen as a Senior Specialist in August 2025.

No stranger to the Canberra equestrian community, Erin started her riding journey at Canberra Equestrian Centre at 8 years of age on a spotted appaloosa named Leopold. It was a quick progression from ‘Dad can I have riding lessons?’ to owning her first Thoroughbred at 13. Erin found her love and passion for eventing with her first horse, Jai, who was a local celebrity among the Pony Clubs. Erin went on to compete at 1* and 2* with her talented equine partners, Foxground Declan and Keliven Cappaccuino. Comfortable with a busy schedule and a touch of chaos – in her ‘spare time’ Erin manages 120 acres complete with a small herd of angus cattle and eight horses (at last count).

Matthew Watson
CEO & Ex-Officio
Matthew’s career started not long after leaving college finding work at a local manufacturing operation in Hume. Providing custom printed product into sports, promotional marketing, and Government; Matt developed skills in sales, manufacturing, and transport, warehousing and distribution including international freight logistics; working with brands including Asics, Adidas, and Puma.
During his 23 years in this industry Matthew developed skills in small to medium sized enterprises (SME), streamlining manufacturing processes focusing on improving work health and safety, and Research and Development in the plastics and screen-printing industry.
Matthew also worked closely with assisting people with disability who were employed in the same workplace, helping adapt processes to individual abilities, creating an inclusive workplace, and building connection within the community. It was both the satisfaction of helping those in need and the SME knowledge that attracted Matthew to Pegasus.
Not having worked in the NFP sector before, Matthew saw an opportunity where his business background could potentially help Pegasus who at the time was transitioning from Government funding to the NDIS model. A model that was forcing NFPs to operate more like a small business and break away from the reliance on Government funding.
Matthew has always had a hands-on approach to the workplace, believing we are all able to do more when working together and not in silos. It is this approach to work that allowed Matthew to fit right into Pegasus, even without a horse background.
